WordPress 101

WordPress is an open source content management system (CMS) and blogging tool. As the most popular blogging system on the Web, it has more than 60 million websites.
Law Firm Sites, Inc. uses WordPress almost exclusively due to its great features and user-friendly guides. Unlike most law firm web design companies, we give our clients access to their own WordPress CMS so that they can make updates to their site whenever they want. Let us introduce you to some of WordPress’s awesome features.
Themes
WordPress allows users to install and change their website themes, which changes the look and functionality of a website, without altering content or structure. You can choose from thousands of templates or upload your own via FTP.
Plugins
WordPress plugins allow users to customize and tailor the features of their website beyond the core installation capabilities. These enhancements range from SEO aids, content display features, widgets, navigation bars, and more.
Multi-user
WordPress has recently enabled a user dashboard that allows users to monitor multiple blogs within one installation and a single dashboard.
Mobile
Apps for iOS, Android, WebOS, Windows Phone and Blackberry now exist so that users can remotely add a page or post, access comments, view stats, and other maintenance options.
Other Features
WordPress also features a search engine-friendly permalink system, assign and nest multiple categories in articles, and tag posts and articles. They have also started supporting the Pingback system, which monitors other sites that link back to yours.
