SEO Tips for Beginners

November 18, 2013

When we created Law Firm Sites, Inc. our goal was to provide our clients with expert advice wherever necessary in pursuit of becoming the #1 law firm web design company in the U.S. Through the years we have been helping our clients gather more and more traffic, out-doing their competition thanks to our design and creative cooperation. Futher, we want to continue that trend by giving a couple of helpful SEO tips for better ranking and SEO-compatibility.

SEO results aren’t instant

The results of SEO work done today might not become apparent, and might not be credited by search engines, for weeks, or even months. The newer your website is, the more patient you will need to be. However, it takes time to build authority and trust. Until you’ve developed both, you shouldn’t expect to outrank older, more established sites.

Create content primarily for people, not search engines

There’s no point creating content that ranks well if it doesn’t help people, interest them, or persuade them to buy from you. Remove duplicate content. You can be penalized for having the same, or very similar content on multiple pages of your site. Remove, merge or add to pages with little content on them. Having lots of content-light pages, with short page view times, can result in search engines downgrading all of your site’s keyword rankings.

Finally, Persistence and education are the most helpful tools to getting you a better search engine ranking. Post informative and reader-friendly content as often as possible to add to your SEO index. SEO rules change frequently, so make sure you stay current on the guidelines and keep your site up-to-date.
