Important Rules About Branding
Law firms create brands to get their name out there and to make their name a statue for recognition, thereby attracting potential clients. But a brand serves the more nuanced purpose of pinpointing the values of the firm and how they like to be perceived. One of the most important things about creating a brand is making sure everything is cohesive. Also, it is important to create a branding style guide or corporate identity guide to outline the do’s and don’ts of using a logo and officially selecting a color scheme for the logo, the letterhead, the brochures, etc.
At Law Firm Sites, Inc. we offer our law firm web design clients packages that include logo creation. Our professional staff of graphic designers creates logos that suit the style and the values of your law firm. We have created a guide to branding and we thought we’d share some of our helpful tips with you.
1. Keep it Simple
Simplicity is easy to read, easy to recognize, and easy to recreate. You want your logo to be easily recognized by potential clients and pleasing to the eye in order to draw them in and make an impact. A simple logo also allows you to change it every decade or so, to keep it fresh and innovative.
It is usually good practice to have two logos, one short and one long. The shorter version maintains the same colors, type-faces, etc. as the long one. However, it usually utilizes initials instead of full names. The short version should be used on a broad scale for most administration needs and remote recognition. The long version should be used when more formal communications are necessary.
Creating logos in color and black/white is always a good idea. It enables you to reproduce your logo on more backgrounds.
These are just a few of the most important branding rules that we established to bring our attorney websites the best service and technology to help them achieve their goals.
