Part of web design for law firm is making sure that you can easily update and add content to your site. Once you learn how to create a WordPress blog post, you can direct your clients to useful and necessary information on your own website.

1. Title Your Post

A great blog post starts with a great title. Clients usually visit law firm websites for specific information, so be as descriptive and succinct as possible.

Search engines and social media sites usually display the first 60 characters of any title. Try to summarize your content in five to seven words.

2. Insert Content

WordPress uses a block-based text format called Gutenberg. To add a block to your post, click the plus sign at the top left of the editor.

Next, select the type of block you want to add. You can choose from plain content blocks, image blocks, and “Media and Text” blocks that let you type next to an image of your choice. Insert your content and format it using the drop-down menus.

3. Format Headers

Blog posts are easier to read when you break up the paragraphs with subheadings. Law Firm Sites Inc creates unique formatting for every heading type.

Format most subheadings as header 2. Nest headers 3, 4, and 5 to break up larger sections. Never use bold or italics in place of a header.

4. Add Meta Information
In the right-hand column of the content editor, you will see a section titled “Document.” Click here to update important settings that make your post easier to find.

  • Add a featured image. This will display in your post directory.
  • Write a short meta description; this will display in search engines and on social media.
  • Add tags and categories to make your post easy for clients to find. This is especially important for law firm websites full of detailed legal information.
